Hello. My name is David “Nathan” Evans (he/him/his). It’s great to meet you and to be able to tell you about myself. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Illinois. I earned a Master of Arts Degree (M.A.) in Clinical Professional Psychology from Roosevelt University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin.
People seek therapy looking for change and looking for answers that have escaped their grasp. Some feel discouraged. As a therapist, I offer non-judgmental encouragement. I help clients explore their relationship to themselves, the world, and others in an honest and direct manner, free from the constraints that deter them from living up to their full potential. I have worked with clients from across the lifespan in community mental health, agency, and private practice settings. I have experience treating anxiety, depression, relationship issues, troubled teens, family problems, relationship difficulties, life transitions, childhood trauma, addiction, coping with illness, and family of origin issues. In addition, I am particularly interested in grief work with clients.
My treatment style is relational, encouraging, and playful. I enjoy working with clients to develop practical insights to help them cope, adapt, and change. I provide teletherapy services for Generations and Home Psych Services using secure video teleconferencing technology for the comfort, convenience, added privacy and safety of my clients.
I am happily married and in my free time, I enjoy watching movies and traveling. I look forward to the opportunity to help you move forward with a new perspective on where you have come from and where you are going.
