Hi, my name is Heather Nemeth. I am so happy to meet you. I am delighted to tell you a bit about me. I am certified as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois and have worked in the behavioral healthcare field for over twenty years. I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A.) in Social Sciences at Washington State University in 2008 and my Master of Arts Degree (M.A.) in Counseling Psychology from Capella University in 2010.
For more than twenty years, I have committed my life to helping others by promoting positive developmental growth personally, academically, and professionally. I have worked in a wide variety of settings during my professional career – working as a mental health counselor, case manager for the Medicaid population, teletherapist, hospital mental health professional, substance abuse counselor, and executive function / life coach. I have broad expertise treating depression, anxiety, family conflict, relationship problems, and childhood disorders. I have specialized expertise working with the physically disabled, trauma victims, refugees, HIV, traumatic brain injury, ADHD, early childhood intervention, and autistic spectrum disorder. I volunteer at local churches for individuals seeking a faith-based approach to wellness. My philosophy on self improvement is based on empowering my clients to ask for support and being open to new ways of thinking. I provide in-office and teletherapy services for Generations and Home Psych Services using secure video teleconferencing technology for the comfort, convenience, added privacy and safety of my clients.
I live in the Western suburbs of Chicago. In my spare time, I enjoy enhancing my primitive survival techniques, hiking, gaming with my kids, and motorcycle riding. I am a proud member of the Bikers Against Bullying club and have a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.
