Laura Rae Venditti, LCPC
Laura is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in the State of Illinois. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts Degree (B.A.) in Psychology from Saint Xavier University where she also minored in Pastoral Ministry. She obtained her Master of Arts Degree (M.A.) in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis on Gerontology from Adler University in Chicago. Laura clinical practice experience has been diverse serving clients ranging in age from five years through the Golden Years in academic, clinical and skilled nursing home settings. She has worked as a school counselor in primary, secondary, and college levels. Laura has also worked in community counseling settings and completed her post-master’s degree externship with HOME PSYCH SERVICES, P.C. Laura’s approach to counseling is focused on assisting her clients in discerning positive choices that will provide relief from suffering. Laura helps her clients identify obstacles and explore solutions – believing that positive change only happens by taking the first positive, courageous steps. By approaching therapy through a client-centered framework, and using the strong principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Laura helps her clients navigate their life journey while guiding them to arrive at a better place.
Laura enjoys spending time with her family where she most especially finds joy in time spent with her grandchildren. Laura enjoys exercising and can often be found walking, running, or biking in Chicago in the city that she loves. Laura is also an avid Chicago White Sox fan and considers Comiskey Park (not Guaranteed Rate Field) her “home away from home.”
