Hello, my name is Nashat!  I am so happy that you found me and that I might be of service to you.  I would love to tell you a bit about me.

My background in the mental health field is varied including clinical work, research, and teaching.  I have traveled the world in my role as a counselor working in private practice and as an administrative physician in Dubai and working as an LCPC specializing in telehealth in the United States.  I have conducted workshops on health-related topics such as coping with stress due to chronic illness, managing the psychological aspects of chronic pain, alleviating caregiver stress, and smoking cessation strategies.  I specialize in helping people of all ages struggling with depression, anxiety, relationship problems, life stress, behavioral problems in children or teenagers, chronic pain, coping with illness and health issues, and healing from physical and / or sexual abuse.  I am especially committed to working with immigrants from all countries or any groups facing marginalization and acceptance challenges.  I have advanced training in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Mindfulness-Based Psychotherapy and provide services for individuals, couples, and families.  My research experience includes studying Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) in breast cancer survivors and studying the effectiveness of CBT on women newly diagnosed with breast cancer.  I consider myself to be a multicultural specialist and highly attuned and sensitive to clients for diverse ethnic backgrounds.  I am fluent in English, Hindi, and Arabic.  I provide teletherapy services for Generations and Home Psych Services using secure video teleconferencing technology for the comfort, convenience, added privacy and safety of my clients.

I am married with two lovely children and a devoted husband.  In my free time, I enjoy watching movies, going for walks, and playing with my beautiful Persian cat, Simba.  I look forward to the opportunity to help you move forward in your life and overcome your difficulties!
